Day 1- Salt Dough Ornaments

Salt Dough ornaments have been something I have done since I was little. The best part about it is that the recipe to make is SO easy! I got this recipe from another blog, but I added some of my own stuff to the recipe. The pictures I will use are from the blog www.nestofposies-blog.com.

Here is the recipe:
4 cups of flour
1 cup salt
Food coloring- Tried Red and turned pink, try using just the color of the salt dough for your first time.
Large Mixing Bowl
Water to moisten- try starting with 2 cups of water and keep adding until dough with stick together like play dough
cookie sheet
a small rolling pin or wooden dowel
a drinking straw
ribbon
a plate for a guide
paint *if desired

Make the dough by adding the salt water and flour together in a bowl

Roll out the dough to where their is a thickness. Press your hand in the dough. Add a hole for ribbon by pressing a straw above the hand print.

Bake for an 1 hour on 150- 175, it probably will need to bake a little longer than this. If you don't want to bake you can air dry all night.

Artsy Inspiration

"Art is the stored honey of the human soul." -Theodor Dreiser
That's some pretty powerful words for the world of crafting. :)

Peanut Butter Banana Grahamwiches!

It's November, and school is in full swing. We know you're in need for some of those afterschool snack ideas, and we've got another one today. We call it...
"Peanut Butter Banana Grahamwiches!"

This is one of our impromptu, out-of-the-blue snack ideas, and it's a fun treat for kids and adults alike. Here's how you can make it yourself:
Start with your ingredients and supplies:

-2 Graham cracker squares
-A spoonful of peanut butter
-Two slices of chopped banana
-1 spoon
-1 knife

Next, take your spoonful of peanut butter and spread it on one of the graham cracker squares with a knife.

Then, plop down your two banana slices wherever you want on your graham cracker. (We like to do it diagonally!)

Finally, top your stack with a second graham cracker square and....dig in! :)

Enjoy! :)

Banana-fanas!

Have you ever put peanut butter on bananas? It's one pretty awesome combination. But now try adding some chocolate to that peanut butter and injecting the mixture inside of your banana. Now THAT is one crazy combo!
We decided to try out this idea just for fun one day, and while it was a tad bit messy, the taste was worth it. It's the absolute perfect snack when you're up for bananas and a little something extra. Try it!
Here's What You'll Need:

-1 Banana
-About 1/2 Cup of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
-1 or 2 Spoonfuls of Peanut Butter

-1 large bowl
-1 small bowl
-1 Knife
-1 Spoon
-1 Toothpick
-1 Decorating Bag
-1 Bismarck or Filling Tip
How to Make It:

First, spoon some peanut butter into your large bowl. In a smaller bowl heat your chocolate chips for about 20 seconds or until melted. Remember to stir your chocolate after heating to get it all mixed in! Then add your melted chocolate to your bowl of peanut butter.

Next, take your toothpick and swirl your peanut butter and chocolate until it's all mixed together!

Now insert the Bismarck or filling tip into your decorating bag and spoon in some of your chocolate peanut butter mixture.

On both ends of the banana stick in your filling tip and squeeze in your PB/choco mix.

Note: You might also need to stick a hole in the side for maximum peanut butter chocolate potential!

Now here comes the fun part! You can add designs and decorations with your piping bag to cover up any holes. We added swirls at the end of the banana for fun!

Try these fun little squiggly lines down the sides!

All that's left to say is...DIG IN! :)

5-Minute Pizza Baggies (Baguettes)

If you like pizza, this is the perfect lunch for you! Simple, quick, and delicious, this fun twist on the classic snack food is perfect for a lunch on the go or whenever you're craving a lighter version of pizza.
5-Minute Pizza Baggies (Baguettes)

Here's what you'll need:
-Center-split deli rolls
-Your favorite pasta/pizza sauce
-Your choice of pizza cheese

Instructions:
-Cut open one deli roll to make two bread halves.

-On the flat side of each halve, spread some sauce and cover with cheese. Note: Make sure you cover as much sauce as you can with a medium-thick layer of cheese. You should only see little spots of sauce-just like when you're coating a pizza.

-Broil on a flat pan in your oven.

-If cheese isn't quite melted, microwave for 15-30 second intervals.

-Serve the two baguette halves separate or sandwich-style and enjoy!

Triple Chocolate Cake Pops

So, Janae, Hope, and I (Jenna), decided to make triple dark chocolate cake pops today at my house, and decided to make a tutorial on how to make them, so below you will find how to make a delicious, cake pop step by step, but first let's meet are bakers in the kitchen today...

First up is Janae, a hard working baker, that has a big passion for baking!

Next up is Hope! Hope is supervisor of the group, and makes sure the baking is perfected!

Finally Me! I work hard to help make the baking process go a lot smoother!

The supplies you need will be...

Steps

First we followed the directions on the cake box
To make a good amount of cake pops use only a 13x9 pan unless you don't want many cake pops
Making the cake

All done!

Next you crumble the cake AFTER cake COOLS for 15 minutes, MINIMUM!
Next we mixed the chocolate cake with icing
Make sure cake is moist, but not too moist after putting icing in, if too dry, just add more icing
After that, get a pan, put wax paper over it, then start rolling the cake into balls. NOTE: Make sure there are no cracks in the balls!
All done! After putting in pan, put them in the freezer for at least 15 minutes, or until firm
Heart cake pop!
After taking out of freezer, microwave your chocolate coating until melted. After that get your sticks and dip the end in the chocolate.
Stick the sticks in the cake balls about 3/4ths through.
Then very gently move the cake pops through the chocolate until coated in chocolate
After coated, put them on the wax paper to let dry
If you still have chocolate left, you can drizzle it on the cake pops for a nice touch!

Inside the cake pops!
For a nice finished touch for a gift, use cling wrap and cover the cake pops with it and tie it with ribbon!
Done!
